Questions I am always asked

April 25, 2018

Since becoming a model, I have been asked the same 3 questions on the regular; soooo… here it is, I am going to give you all the answers right here, right now!

1.   DO YOU GET TO KEEP THE CLOTHES

That is a big fat NO. It is very rare that clients will let you keep the clothes that you shoot. The products that you are shooting are usually a sample and can be sold. Some clients will offer you dollars to their store, or send you free things for you to post on your social pages.

2.   DO THEY PAY FOR YOUR TRAVEL?

It really depends on the client. 90% of my clients will pay for travel (which I am extremely grateful for),  but some of them do not have it in their budget and feel technically they can book a model that is already in their area.

3.   YOU’RE SO LUCKY, HOW GLAMOROUS IS IT?

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but unless you are on a campaign, cookbook, commercial, special project etc … its not that glamorous.

Here is what a regular e-com shoot will look like:

-Hair and makeup for an hour and half

-Test of the lighting and make sure hair and makeup are looking good

-Go into change room, put on first look

-Come out on the set, pose until you are told to stop

-Repeat 30-50 times … sometimes more

-Have a lunch break at some point

-Post photos on your social media that make it seem you are living the best fucking life

-Go home

It is a lot of fun when you are working with a good crew - I have made some incredible friends in the industry, but like any other job it is a job and has its pros and cons.

So there you have it.... the answers to some of the golden questions!! Just remember that not everything on the internet is how it seems and that it is a model's job to literally sell you an image.

If you would like more information about getting into the modeling industry, whether it's modeling, makeup,, or photography, please don't hesitate to contact me via email - I will do my best to point you in the right direction.
